Dr. Richard Stone, Acting Under Secretary for Health: VA pauses J&J and we still have safe vaccines

Since December, VA has safely and successfully given over 4.8 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Veterans, spouses and caregivers. In line with CDC guidance, we are pausing the use of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine due to very rare side effects. However, the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines are still available—and safe.
