Droplet Microfluidics

Microdroplets are generated when two immiscible liquids intersect each other, in either a passive or active process. Passive (continuous) methods use pressure-driven flow and channel geometry. Channel geometry can range from T-junction (A), flow-focusing (B), or co-flowing (C). Active (on-demand) methods use additional energy input such as from electrical, magnetic and centrifugal fields.
