Hydrating in the Heat -- Saint Thomas Health
With temperatures soaring into the 90's this summer, staying hydrated is incredibly important. Dr. Taura Long, Family Medicine at Saint Thomas Health, part of Ascension, says most people aren't drinking enough water which can lead to dehydration, heat exhaustion or worse, heat stroke. Drinking enough fluids can replace salt and minerals you lose from sweating especially when exercising. Dr. Long says if you feel thirsty, you're already behind the 8-ball.
