Clinical care continues its march outside the walls of the hospital. By some estimates, up to 50 percent of a hospital system’s revenue now comes from outpatient services and other types of care beyond the brick-and-mortar. Soon, the traditional hospital will be reserved exclusively for the sickest patients requiring the most critical care. For providers, distributed care is a way to drive more value, improve outcomes and maximize efficiency in a constantly shifting regulatory environment.
