EU regulator says AstraZeneca vaccine benefits outweigh risks despite 'possible links' of blood clots
The European Medicines Agency (EMA) on Wednesday acknowledged a "possible link" between the AstraZeneca vaccine and "very rare cases of blood clots" but said the benefits of the vaccine, however, continue to outweigh the risks.
According to a statement from the European medical body, the Pharmacovigilance Risk Assessment Committee (PRAC) "concluded on Wednesday that unusual blood clots with low blood platelets should be listed as very rare side effects of Vaxzevria.
