Kolkata: A 53-year-old businessman from the southern fringes of the city is currently admitted in a private hospital’s critical care wing with severe Covid-19 infection. Another 49-year-old north Kolkata resident is being treated in the ICU of a government Covid-19 facility. These are not just two isolated cases. Amidst the sharp surge in Covid-19 cases, the aver-age age of infected patients is coming down from what the hospitals had witnessed during the first wave.
