Flu Activity Is ‘Low’ in U.S., CDC Says
Overall this season, the CDC estimates there have been at least 25 million illnesses, 280,000 hospitalizations and 18,000 deaths from flu. These low-end figures are within historical ranges from past seasons but have surpassed the numbers from last season, which saw an estimated 9 million illnesses, 100,000 flu-related hospitalizations and 5,000 deaths.
