The idea of Yashoda Hospitals was born in the heart of Dr G Surender Rao, one of Hyderabad's eminent clinicians. In 1985, after an international education in medicine, he returned to India and set up a professional practice. In the next few years his practice flourished but he became increasingly frustrated by the lack of adequate hospital infrastructure for his patients.
